FRIDAY EVENING

Head downtown for a craft brew and dinner at Exile Brewing Company. Grab a pint of their Beatnick Sour, indulge with a plate of Exile Truffle Fries, and chow down on the Dante’s Inferno burger.

SATURDAY MORNING

Wake up with an Australian-style breakfast at St. Kilda – a Des Moines hot spot. Here you’ll enjoy classics like yogurt and granola, or you can tap into your inner millennial and much on an excellent avocado toast. Take a peek at their selection of breakfast sandwiches, all made with an Australian twist you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere this side of the equator.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Shop until you drop in the Historic East Village. Walk around this beautiful neighborhood and find the perfect gift from Domestica or Raygun. Or, if fancy snacks are more your version of shopping, check out Purveyor for fine meats and cheeses or DreiBerge for a rich latte.

After a few hours of shopping, take a break with a fruity cocktail that is sure to send you to a tropical paradise. Bellhop Tiki Bar offers a tiki-twist on poolside classics with their Mai Tai, PainKiller, and Jungle Bird cocktails.
